Never

Twisted between silk threads,
thoughts of you connect
the cobweb to the daisy,
Memories engraved
on a grain of sand, slip
through my fingers as I try
to hang on to something that
was never mine.

A single tear slides
from a petal, making its way
down the intricate weave
landing on a grain of sand,
eroding the memories
that never were
and the love that will never be.
