Captain
I come to you Captain
as a child would go
to her parents for help.
My heart is heavy
and my thoughts are so perplexed,
even the very wals of my soul
are exhausted from worry and stress.
Take away my anguish,
renew my strenght,
I come to you Captain
for peace comfort and rest.
I come to you Captain
as an empty pitcher
sitting before a flowing fountian,
replenish my soul with joy,
lift my spirit
so that I can go on,
Its my desire to do my best
sometimes it isn't easy
while on this tedious journey,
life itself becomes like a ship
on on a raging sea,
you're tossed about,
up and down
and leaning from side to side
wondering whether or not
you're going to drown.
Captain! Oh my Captain,
please calm this angry storm,
and anchor me in your arms of safety.
I am your vessel
steer me in the right direction,
I'm depending upon you
to see me through,
for you are the Captain of my life.
