Putting Off an Evening Chore

This fall full moon
has seduced street lamps
into submission

me as well

illuminating curb corners
GE never new existed
filleting the stratosphere
exposing cross-sections of clouds
letting stars have their say.

I'll turn out shirt
and pants pockets later
and let the week's paper thoughts
float to the floor, perhaps to form
tomorrow's pre-laundry poem.

For now I'll meander night streets.
