With a Tear in Her Eye

I met her at the party last night
and I thought now or never
but as she looked at me
with a tear in her eye.
I stood so still,
wishing I was blind.
I told her it's all over last night,
because I have got someone new.
With pain in her face,
I stood so still,
wishing I was not born.
Last night I have done wrong.
Last night
I have sent away my girl,
my sweet girl.
As she turned her head
I whispered goodbye
and I stood so still
wishing her love.
I begged her to go.
Last night I said no,
please go.
Please just go!
Last night
I've done wrong.
Last night
I've sent away my girl,
My sweet girl
and she was gone weeping,
while she turned
I stood so still
wishing her back,
oh what have I done?
Last night needed her so.
Love her so.
I stood so still
with a tear in my eye,
but now she is gone
and with her my soul.
