When you Came Into my Life

When you came into my life
I knew right from the start
A love so very rare
Had somehow touched my heart.

When I looked into your eyes
The prisoner within
Pleading for release
Was begging for a friend.
Someone to understand
What it means to be alone
Without someone who cares
Someone who'll help you grow.

What does it mean to be lonely?
What makes you feel that way?
You're surrounded by love
But if you don't get enough
You decide there's no reason to stay.

This path's an endless circle
The scenery's still the same
You took a wrong turn
But you never seem to learn
That you're the one who has to change.

When you came into my life
I knew right from the start
Yours was a love so rare
A love that filled my heart.
