Tread Lightly

My footprints are not walking with God,
For I do not know of Him.
My footprints are walking with yours
Because I do know of you.

I have asked you to show me the way
In which I too can walk free.
This is not an easy task
And I can see that now.

I often have a slowness to my walk
And sometimes I even have to stop.
The fear of falling one more time
Can be quite crippling to me.

Please tread lightly on my sand
It sometimes hurts more than I can stand.
Having lost hope in myself,
I have learned to have hope in you.

Please don't let me down,
Be as successful as you can.
Tread lightly on my sand.
Go slowly if you can.
