To My Love

Scattered clouds in the blue skies soaring
forever endlessly onward.
Wintry afternoons have come and now have gone.
While I stand still
by the river looking toward the horizon
as far as I can see.
Hoping...
Wishing...
Yet despair and anguish prevails
for lonely am I without
your smiling eyes
looking into mine

Yet a glimmering light faintly shines
a light of reassuring hope.
A word...a smile
Your gentle touch
I know now I have nothing to dread.
Your heart is mine and mine is yours.
Intertwining branches
of pure perfect love.
