Still Life

In the light of the soft moon,
just risen in the path of the sun,
I search for introspection
in a world that would have none.
Sifting through it all,
the timeless sands that have made
and will make up my life.
Each grain holds a story and an emotion.
Trying to apply some reason,
eternally seeking,
a peace,
a place,
my own serenity and identity,
by finding a direction
no compass will show.
Looking inward,
to find answers
to the things out there.
The bond we all share,
the things we go through.
Times we mold.
People we hold.
All a part of this order
if there is order at all.
Maybe just a jumbled collage
on the tapestry of fate,
all may be pure chance in our lives.
Who is to say?
What we will find tomorrow,
or even what we saw yesterday.
