Soulmates
for my wife, Carol

To share a common dream,
To embrace a common goal.
To experience the others triumphs
As if they were our own.

To laugh when the other laughs,
To cry when the other cries.
To look to the stars and know,
Know what the other may feel.

Where an utterance yields a thought,
Where a thought bestows a truth,
Where truth enlightens the spirit and
Nurtures the collective soul.

To espouse the others being,
To caress the others soul.
To share a common passion,
Void of selfish needs.

For the two to become one,
For the one to transcend all time —
For if we both seek these things, my love,
Then a soulmate we have found.
