Requital

I who had prayed
That we would be parted
Was lost since you departed
For the Hereafter
Taking with you
The sweet and the bitter
Only now I could see better.
Dark home
Empty home
Would time heal the emptiness?
This weary, baleful, ultimate
Loneliness
Silence
Your permanent absence
I noticed, laying down my head
The blank in my bed
You seemed so near
Forgetfully
I stretched
To caress your rear
In the dark the memory
Of your giggles
Reverberated.
