Rebirth

I lived to have been there,
Seeing through a new heart
To shout across the velvet gloom.
The brightness of my empty tomb
In the absence of my light,
While shivers
Of anticipation run roughshod
Through my life for death,
A corpse at my feet
Rejects my plea happily beguiled.
