Of Magic

I hide behind
a faceless name.

I
wear a mask
to hide the pain
of tender scars
that will not heal,
of broken dreams
that were not real.

hesitation --
familiar fears --
but I braced myself
against the tears
and wandered toward
the tempered light
that found my shadow
in the night

wont you join me?
