More Than Thought

Disjointed voices,
simply words,
say nothing,
say everything.
A coin's thin rattle
in a beggars cup
rings louder
than these verbal alms.
Disjointed words,
simply voices:
equations uttered
for unfailing failure,
algebra for sleeping
in an abattoir,
solutions searching
for their formula.
The past echoes and reaches,
(forever, is forever, forever).
Filtered through vibrating cords
(now, nothing more than thought.)
