Fate

A close friend lost to the wind of fate.
I am left alone searching for justice,
and my memories already beginning to fade.
Is it fair? No, but what is fair?
A word, obsolete in times we live in,
perhaps obsolete even when conceived.
To seek for an answer that none
but God and our dead understand.
It hurts because I was powerless then.
I am powerless now, forever to stop it.
And for the first time I face the unknown,
I challenge it, to show me or take me.
I must know the answers, Why? Why? Why?
All I get for an answer is cold mocking silence.
Answer me...silence...
Show me...silence...
Take me...silence...
Forever...silence...
