Emotional Braille

All of my life I’ve been trying to find,
A woman of virtue who's caring and kind,
A piece of my future precisely defined.

I took the wrong path, out at the start,
Just me and my dreams, refusing to part,
At ends and unknowing, lost in my heart.

But during my searching the enemy mined,
And freed the beast I once had confined,
Inside of the barb wire guarding my mind.

With reality reeling I fight to be sure,
Struggling to keep my feet on the floor,
I put that damned lock back on the door.

Like deaf people, who can only be signed,
My senses are ruined, my needs resigned,
Emotional Braille for emotionally blind.
