And My Dreams Begin Anew

I lie where the 'wilderness' sounds unfold.
My eyes slowly close to the day.
And as the wind whispers love songs to my soul
The cares of the world slip away.

The distant thunder, once a frightening roar
Now soothes like a lullaby.
On 'stairways of air' my spirit soars
On new wings it does learn to fly.

I can hear the crickets' peaceful account
Of twilight suspended in time.
Weavers of magical webs are about
This world, it seems, is mine.

'Thoughts from inside' now draw the webs taut
And capture my heart in the snare.
How ironic it is that these woods I have sought
Suddenly exist everywhere.

And my dreams begin anew.
