Ghost

I stand in the corner
As he tucks them in bed,
I watch him lean over
And kiss them on the head.

Oh how I wish I could
Touch them once more,
But that will never happen
As I walk out the door.

I see their dad
Sitting in his chair,
I glance at the table
And a picture of me is there.

He stares at it quietly
As the tears start to fall,
And I start to realize
I'm not really there at all.

My heart starts to race
And I suddenly can't move,
This whole time
I've just been a ghost in the room.
