Casting Couch

Before I was paved I was Real
Dirt would cling
Impressions were left
Now I'm more accessible, easier to take
Like grinding a pill for a child
It must have been all those countless auditions
Yet I never voluntarily went for the part
An actor of life
Not knowing whether to play the lead or fill the scenery
I cower atop the soapbox
Peering down at my audience
And I manage to spew
"What the hell are all you looking at"
So at the twenty sixth mile I relive myself
