The Beginning, Middle and the End

I.

It is cold dark and quiet.
Nothing seems to exist.
Empty space all around,
Confusion surrounds.

A bright flash of light.
Now, a vast lighted land.
I exist, I've come to beginning.
I can hear touch and smell.

Like a diamond
I've been molded from minerals,
Kept away in pressure and
From light.

Now, I've been discovered.
I wonder if I'm alive,
Maybe I'm dead or
Just a thought caught in this land.

I am one, I am many.
I give life to lifelines,
I give shape to the inanimate.
One thing is sure I'm existence, the beginning.

II.

I spend most of my life pondering
Over problems and choices.
I'm felt over a vast land.
I can go anywhere and do anything.

Like a boy I can run and play,
As a rock I sit and wait for the dreaded day.
Choices all around me
Problems always surround me.

I explore and search everything.
Using my senses and
The gifts I have been endowed.
I'm free to roam.

I'm the phase were we learn.
I'm always in use, but cannot suffer abuse.
I receive and say good-bye to life everyday.
I'm not the beginning or the end, just the middle my friend.

III.

Everybody hates me.
Most things fear me.
I'm the dark of the day
And the cold of the night.

When I come your lost and alone.
Nowhere for you to run free and roam.
You can't see, touch or hear
You just have endless fear.

You begin to drift,
As my hands clutch you.
No, thought or anything left.
Because, I've come: death, nothingness, the end.
