The Gift of a Dandelion

The dandelion, otherwise known as a weed,
has a value that most people cannot concede.
Strong are its roots, embedded so deeply,
to ensure its survival and complete recovery.
Yellow and sunny it brightens up sweetly
a sure sign of spring and of new beginnings.
Even the name endorses my plea,
for a Dandy-Lion takes the fear out of me.
Because it is so plentiful, so hardy and free.
Too easily available. Just too good to be.
A child picks a dandelion for his mommy
to show how he feels; so his love she will see.
This is a gift that God gave you and me|
to teach us of love and about nature's beauty.
Nature has the resources to so wonderfully
fix the wrong in our lives, if only we could see.
So the next time you see someone who's cryin'
Show them your love with a gift of a Dandelion.
