Oh Do Not Forget?

The hopeless man in his cardboard home,
Lies lonely and hungry, forgotten alone.
Dies in the street,
Who mourns for him?

A child beaten blue by a drunken hand,
His eyes glazing over and no one cries,
Mo tender and loving touch
Is comforting him!

Oh you who mourn for your known loss,
Remember those whom the world has forgot
That the death of any man
Diminishes us all!

Written on the occasion of the WTC disaster etc
