It Never Fails

I've washed
Rocks, toy bits
Candy, gum
Paper clips
Batteries
A tree's twig
Money - usually pennies
Paper
Crayons
A pencil - or two
A wallet (with pictures)
Homework (a faded F) ?
Fishing lures
With the hooks left.

This washing machine
Has seen it all
Been through it all,
Making a mother proud.
No sooner spoke,
Then it broke
The day the warranty ran out!
