In Memory
I felt a dark place in the sky
The day I knew you had gone.
Why, I cried, should partings be?
Why one stays and one goes on
To places where we cannot see
Familiar forms in well loved scenes?
Why am I the one left here
To watch in vain for
One so dear?
From out the depths within my soul
A slow, dawning came to me;
He wanted a partner for life
Not a shallow love and sharing.
The desire for the ability to be oneself
Is the essence of life and love.
This esential part is the bases
For the deep
True love
To be.
